Kirkland Criminal Defense Attorney

Jeff Ostrove

Jeff Ostrove joined The Knauss Law Firm from the King’s County Prosecutor’s Office where he was a Trial Deputy. He handled every aspect of a wide range of cases from filing charges to negotiation, motions, and trial. In other words, he learned the in and outs of the system the only way that really matters - from the courthouse, in the courtroom.

Jeff handled all types of DUI, assault, reckless driving, larceny, no contact violation cases and more.

He enjoyed the legal work, it was “rough and tumble, meant thinking on my feet, and motions written in a day while still having the finesse for arguing in court.”

There was, however, one major problem – somewhere along the way Jeff realized that more times than not he would rather have been defending rather than prosecuting. Like Matt Knauss, it didn’t take long for the inequities of the criminal justice system to make an impression on Jeff. A negative impression.

It wasn’t any single, specific, thing. It was the cumulative impact over months of observing the full weight of the government brought to bear on individuals already under great stress and facing the unknown.

Jeff brought his experiences and ‘inside baseball’ knowledge of how the police and prosecution really work to Knauss Law to help our clients fight back and regain their lives while making the process “a lot less stressful.”

Jeff gets that “the stakes for our clients are real and potentially life changing.” His philosophy is simple: use his experience to understand what the prosecution wants and represent his clients to the maximum extent possible while keeping them involved and informed every step of the way. NO client of Jeff’s is ever surprised.

When Jeff isn’t helping our clients, he – a first rate pianist – directs musicals around Greater Seattle.
